Moab, Aspen, Telluride, and Durango are all within driving distance, and if you care to venture out just a little farther you've got more public land and the fun that goes with it than anywhere else on earth. And while our winters are mild, you can find snow and slopes right up the road—world class ski resorts can be quickly reached from Cortez.
