a 150 mile radius of Cortez than anywhere else on earth.
The Navajos called
Cortez Tsaya-toh, meaning "rock water." Much of America's early
history happened in this region. The Ancient Pueblo culture, the
Spanish Missionaries, the El Camino Realall of these thrived in the
region.
Native American Culture, the Mountain Men, Cowboys, the U.S. Calvary
and the boom and bust economies of the mining camps are all a part
of the colorful history of the area.
